The Rec Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC) is fully geared up to find our next pastor! The team will meet each week until our search is complete. Our first major task will be writing the Ministry Information Form (MIF). This is an online form describing who we are and what characteristics the next pastor should have.
A lot of this research has already been done via the Transition Team through the cottage meetings held last summer. But the PNC is committed to getting more input as well, specifically from a survey of the congregation and interviews with our youth, Karen, and JoAnn.
Once the MIF is approved by Presbytery, it will be posted on the PCUSA website where candidates can find us and apply for the position. They will be able to review our Mission Study as well. Applicants will have posted Personal Information Forms (PIF) describing their skills and expectations for their next call, and we will be able to match what they say to our expectations as a church community. Eventually, we will select a small group to interview, listen to their sermons, and discuss. After discussion, prayer, a check of references and listening to the Holy Spirit, we will issue a call and negotiate the terms of call. The final step is approval of the call by a vote of the congregation. Pray for us along this journey!
