Normally, youth group would meet after worship in the youth room.

Sunday school is important,

but we also put a large amount of focus on building relationships.

Relationships with one another, with our congregation, and with our community.

Youth group is a time for the youth of our church to have a safe space to be themselves as they grow in their faith.

Our youth engage in the community through public service projects and learning where their help is needed. We want our youth to know that even the smallest of hands can create the largest of changes in the world.

Often we will host fundraisers to not only raise money for mission trips and projects, but also to create fellowship within our church. These funds help offset costs for summer mission trips where we go out and are God’s hands and feet in the world. This is an important week where we not only learn about the needs in our world and serve, they are also a week of growth for the youth. Creating bonds with one another and taking care of themselves and others.

We also take a summer trip to Montreat for their annual youth conference.

It is a week of worship, connections, growth, and fun.

We welcome all to join us. If you have any questions about youth and youth programming, please contact Karen Miller karen@churchrec.org.

We believe that our youth are full members of our worshiping community.

They are encouraged to share their gifts with us for they have a lot to give.

Ways our youth participate in Worship at The Rec:
